Two weeks ago, twice in a row, the Lord woke me up in the early morning. When I looked at the clock, it was 3:16am. The Holy Spirit started to speak and said, “John 3:16.” At that moment, I couldn’t remember the scripture but knew it was a familiar one.
Later, when I woke up, I asked my son if he knew the scripture and he recited it to me. I knew there was a message in that, but was waiting to hear from the Lord again.
Recently, the Holy Spirit woke me up again at 2:30am and he started to speak. I pray that you will enjoy this revelation and that it will somehow touch your heart today.
John 3:16 (AMP)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
When I read the scripture above, the word believeth stood out among all the others. From that word three words come to my mind; trust, believe, and faith.
Trust – assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something.
What does it mean to trust God? It means to trust Him when there’s no one else to trust; to allow His Word to come first before any one else’s. It means to love Him and trust that what He has allowed in our life, He will mold and make perfect as He sees good for us. It means, clinging on the Word through the aches and pains that will come as the Lord takes full control of our life. To trust even in the darkest hours of the night as we cry out to Him for a better day. To trust beyond the words, the meaning, and human comprehension. To take our self from our flesh and walk in the Spirit as He takes us where He says we should go.
To trust in his character, ability, and strength to move us where His desires and pleasures want to take us.
Believe – To accept as true, genuine, or real
To believe all that the Lord has said will come to fruition. To know without a shadow of a doubt that we may not see the fruits at this time, but it’s coming. Our waiting period should be filled in praising and worshipping the Lord, being busy doing His business and knowing that He is working in the Spirit all that has to be planned and executed in order for us to see the fruit ripen. Our job is not to plead to Him to hurry, but to allow His perfect Will to go through every stage to its’ completion. Just as we start off as a baby, toddler, child, youngster, teenager, early adulthood, middle, and old age, we too have to go through those same stages in the Spirit.
To believe God to be the true God; genuine and real in all aspects of our life.
Faith – something that is believed especially with strong conviction
Do we truly have faith in all that has been said in the Bible and know the same God that worked miracles, protected His people from dangers, and moved His people from rags to riches, is the same God working today for you and me?
Do we have faith that in His Word, His love, there is power to change any circumstance from one day to another? To know that when we serve the Almighty God, we will swiftly move in His Glory and shine in all places as He brings us in front of many to testify, to minister, and love others regardless of how they may look, think, or act?
Do we have faith even though we may be in our worst state right now, knowing that the situation will bring Glory later in our life?
Do we have faith enough that whatever may come our way, we will hold tight to Him? Whether we’re being tossed from left to right, we hold on to His garment with all our strength? To have the faith enough to know that we can have peace during the storm? The atmosphere may be in turmoil, but we can see through His eyes and know that all will be well?
Do we have faith to open our spiritual eyes and see the devil lurking for his next step, but we’re on him and we prepare ourselves for that attack? We put on the armor of God and like David, he didn’t need the physical armor; he knew the spiritual armor had power and authority over everything.
Open the Word and go on a spiritual journey with Him. He yearns for your company and friendship. This is the God that we serve!
