We continue with the steps of “The Power of the Woman – The Influencer.”
2) Be A Prayerful Woman
One of the most important aspects of prayer is the daily bread we have with the Lord. Prayer is just not done on our knees. Prayer can take place any time and any where. Whether you’re walking, cleaning, bathing, or anything else you can think of, you can be in prayer.
I recall washing dishes one afternoon and I was praying for certain people, it became a dialogue with Jesus. It was a wonderful conversation as I was doing a chore.
We have to learn to bring God into our daily life. Just as you would sit down with a cup of tea with a friend or have dinner, you do the same with Jesus. He loves it!
Philippians 4:6 (AMP)
Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.
3) Be An Obedient Woman
I’m still learning this. I don’t think I’ll ever master the obedience cycle because just when I think I have, the Lord gives me another assignment that requires obedience at a next level. I just have to tell you that being an obedient Godly woman is very exciting. I remember when I was a newly Christian woman and an aunt said, “Girl, you’re going to live a boring life.” I didn’t know how to respond because I was new at this. The next few years, I actually did live a boring life; I felt like an Israelite coming out of Egypt. I tried to keep all the commandments, abide by all the churches rules, and live in this sinful world. If you think about it, that’s hard to do!!
But when I found my Jesus!!!!!! That’s when it all changed for me. Ladies, please build a relationship with Jesus. You will never regret it. It’s the most exciting, challenging, fulfilling path you will ever take.
Psalm 37:4 (AMP)
Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.
God will give you all the desires of your heart when you’re aligned to the destiny He has chosen for you.
There will be times that you want to go one way and God is telling you to go another way. Let me tell you a secret; go God’s way! You’ll save lots of trouble for yourself in the long run.
So, save yourself heart aches, headaches, back aches, and follow what he says.
4) Be A Selfless Woman
Look at your surroundings. Ask yourself, “How can I help someone in need today? How can I go out and encourage someone?” Seek out the opportunities. There are women and men hurting all around us. Ask the Lord to show you where you can help someone else. He may shock you!!!
Once you’re over the shock, go do as He says.
Philippians 2:3 (NLT)
Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.
A shocker for me was when the Lord asked me to go to the women prison and mentor women in the facility. My first thought was, “I have no experience with incarcerated women. How will I help?” The Lord responded, “There are women in the world all around you that are incarcerated in their minds.” Now, go into the jail and help.
The experience has been the best ever. Not only is this woman being blessed but I leave every week thanking the Lord for the opportunity. You become more thankful where you are in your own life and it opens up the door for you to do more for others.
So, I ask you, Ladies, step out of your comfort zone and do something you normally wouldn’t do.
5) Be A Testimony Woman – You Are A Walking, Living Testimony
Many of us are not comfortable in talking about our struggles, trials, and tribulations in life. Do you know how powerful testimony can be? We are in a dying world and many people don’t know what it is to walk and talk with Jesus; our testimonies can help so many people.
My close friends laugh at me because when we have conversations, the Lord will tell me, tell her about when… AND I’ll say, “I have a story to tell you.” Ladies, if you know me, I always have a story to tell.
AND so do you! We shouldn’t be ashamed to talk about it in order to heal someone else. God didn’t allow that mishap in our life to occur so you can keep it to yourself. Walk it out, talk it out, and watch people be healed by your words.
Mark 16:15 (KJV)
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature.
Preaching the Gospel to every creature is not left for the pastor or the leaders of our Church. Each and every one of us has a duty to speak out the Words the Lord has given us. All we have to do is open our mouth and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through us.
