Exodus 12:31-32 (AMP)
31He called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, get out from among my people, both you and the Israelites; and go, serve the Lord, as you said. 32Also take your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone! And [ask your God to] bless me also.
Pharaoh was beside himself and urgently called for Moses and Aaron to depart from his land. He didn’t want any more catastrophes against his people.
Moses returned to the Israelites and gave them the command to leave Egypt along with ALL that they owned and to ask the Egyptians for jewels of silver, gold, and clothing. This was confirmation that they all satisfied God’s request as they followed the instructions precisely.
Looking up into the sky and giving thanks for answered prayers. Imagine the excitement as they prepared for the journey to the land God promised.
The Israelites were not leaving empty handed. They were becoming prosperous as they were dwelling in Pharaoh’s land. That’s how this whole slave issue started. Pharaoh was intimated by their growth and he had to do something about it. But it still didn’t stop the Israelites from prospering. Then, as they’re leaving Egypt, God continues blessing them by allowing them to take silver, gold, and clothing from the Egyptians? Only God can be this crazy about us to do this kind of stuff in our lives.
We will receive favor in God’s eyes as the enemies hand over the blessing just to get us out of the way. Isn’t that something! The Lord always has the last say in everything. Even to the point of making the enemy look like a fool right before our eyes. Just as riches get transferred in an instant; Only God!!!
Have you ever felt God’s presence so strong upon you that everything else around you seems as if it’s falling apart? You know it’s God shifting things into place so that you will shine in a particular area? If you know what I’m talking about, I beg you to stay humbled and focused as the Lord gives you the wisdom to excel and use your talents to fulfill His plan.
He was allowing the Israelites to shine and to enjoy the fruits of their labor. When God does this in your life, it’s eminent and you think back of all that was endured. Then look to the present and reap the rewards. You sit back and smile and know that the wisdom that has been instilled in you is not your doing but the doing of the Lord Almighty using you as His vessel. Why? Because of your faithfulness and obedience to Him!
Exodus 12:36 (AMP)
The Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they gave them what they asked. And they stripped the Egyptians [of those things].
When it is your time to receive favor from the Lord, we can’t be shy in receiving all that is being set before us. We have to be bold and “ask.” As we do this, we will “receive.” The scripture above states, “So that they gave them what they asked.” The Egyptians didn’t give them what they thought they should give the Israelites. They gave them what the Israelites asked from them. Hallelujah!!!
Are we ready? I pray we will all be ready to receive what we ask through Jesus Christ.
The Lord’s Passover meant so much for the Israelites. This was miracles never to be forgotten.
|Pass Over||Pass Through||Significance|
|The Lord passed over the Israelites and the blood of the lamb covered them||The Lord passed through the Egyptians and destroyed all firstborn||We have to plead the blood of Jesus over every aspect of our life to receive victory|
|Exodus 12:13 (AMP)
The blood shall be for a token or sign to you upon [the doorposts of] the houses where you are, [that] when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague shall be upon you to destroy you when I smite the land of Egypt.
|The Israelites were passing over from old to new life in Christ. From Egypt to the Promised Land||The Egyptians tried to stop the Israelites from passing over to their new destiny by going after them at the Red Sea. The Lord wasn’t going to allow them to pass through the path that was only for the Israelites. Those who tried, perishedPromise=fulfilled destiny||God had already spoken the Words to life, and promised the Israelites their freedom and exit from Egypt. There was no army that could come against them to stop this promise|
|Isaiah 54:17 (KJV)
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
